Assistant Accountant

EM&I is currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team in Wilmslow, Cheshire. This is a varied role in a busy global finance department where the incumbent will be exposed to many aspects of the finance function.

 

Role: Assistant Accountant

Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire

Employment type: full time / permanent

Package: up to £28k + 10% KPI bonus + healthcare + 5% pension contribution 

 

Role

To assist a busy accounts team by providing support services to EM&I Group in accordance with industry best practice, company policy and regulatory requirements. This is a highly responsible and fluid role where the incumbent will be involved in a wide variety of tasks.

 

Academic Competencies

  • 5 GCSEs (A-C) including English and Maths
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Fully AAT qualified + studying towards ACCA, ACA or CIMA

 

Responsibilities

Accounting:

  • Monthly bank reconciliation for allocated EM&I companies.
  • Processing sales invoices
  • payroll processing
  • Support AP and expenses process
  • Monthly review of group AP ledger
  • Monthly bank reconciliation
  • Processing sales invoices

Monthly Accounts:

  • Supporting the management accounts process in the provision of detailed analytical review
  • Posting accounting adjustments as required
  • Updating the overhead and sales forecast report and maintaining the employee rates table

Treasury Management:

  • Preparing the weekly and monthly cash flow (reviewed by the Financial Controller)
  • Leading on the meetings regards the 12th and 25th cash requirements of the group
  • Work closely with the Corporate Accountant in paying down inter-company invoices and loans
  • Control of day to day group funding requirements across all regions.
  • Monitoring cash movements and initiating F/X bank transfers with the Traders and recording data for analysis.
  • Generating payment requests at controlled intervals.
